«I’m aware that I’m going to have to leave… This happens to all my friends at school. If I found something good, of quality, I’d be willing to stay, because I’ve lived here, I’ve grown up here… And if it’s going to be hard for me to stay, imagine what it’s going to be like for others»

  • Challenges

    • Current mentality. «People here are not willing to change anything. I see it in my parents, my aunts and uncles, my neighbours… Those who advocated change so much in their day have stayed there and have not been able to adapt to the new times»
    • Housing prices. «The truth is that housing prices, taking into account everything that is going on, could compensate a little, but not even that…»
  • Opportunities

    • Time for change. «I think we have reached a point of no return. We have to get the people who live here to stay here. The basins are a microcosm with many people from many places»
    • Development hub. «A consortium could be created between large companies (Iberdrola, Bayer, Duro Felguera, Hunosa) and all the public administrations to promote new projects»

Underlying perception

«We are at a pivotal moment for change»
